The new blog

Right… trying to find out if I can insert a blog inside a page over here. Yep, I appreciate the whole thing is a blog…

Having great fun in the Borders garden just now. At long last, we are turning ‘the ruin’ – a mostly derelict little building at the end of the garden, and which has been at various times, cottage, cow byre, garaging – into a tiny walled garden for fruit and vegetables.

Even more fun, the old shed attached to it – once a tiny paved yard with two stone built pigsties – in being transformed into a little yard with a summer house at one end, and a whopping open-air fireplace at the other – I’m just back from getting a local agricultural ironwork firm to make up a fireback, and a big trivet to put over the bonfire ash and on which to cook supper under autumn’s stars… pix follow
